CITY OF WOODLAND PARK WASTEWATER OPERATOR – COMPOSTING
The City of Woodland Park is accepting applications for a full-time position of Wastewater Treatment Operator, Compost Operations. This is an excellent opportunity to enter the field of environmental protection at a grassroots level. Primary duties include converting bio-solids to finished compost for beneficial reuse, maintenance and repair of mechanical and electrical equipment, laboratory testing, and general plant operations. Periodic on-call duty and emergency call-out required.
Requirements: High school diploma or GED, knowledge and aptitude in math and chemistry, good organizational skills and ability to maintain accurate records, attention to detail, safety conscious, ability to lift 70 lbs, valid driver’s license and good driving record. Maximum 40 minute on-call and emergency response time. Requires some outdoor work and standing for extended periods. Must achieve wastewater treatment certification within 1 year. Non-smoking environment.
Desired qualifications include basic computer skills including use of Microsoft Office applications, effective verbal and written communication skills, laboratory experience, heavy equipment operator experience, ability to detect normal vs. abnormal lab results and plant conditions, and certification in wastewater treatment. Position is Grade 6, starting salary range is $36,277 – $40,509 DOQ plus excellent benefit package. With a Wastewater Certification a higher Grade and Salary are applied. Position open until filled. POLICE DEPARTMENT POSITIONS
SCHOOL RESOURCE OFFICER
The City of Woodland Park, Colorado is accepting applications to fill the position of a school resource officer. This is contingent upon a city council budget amendment, to allow for the grant funded education position. Applications will be accepted until the position is filled.
- Must meet requirements for, and achieve Peace Officer Certification as described in Colorado Law and P.O.S.T.
- Must possess, or be able to obtain by time of hire, a valid Colorado State driver’s license.
- Out of state applicants must complete the Colorado Provisional Certification Packet (www.coloradoattorneygeneral.gov) and obtain their Colorado P.O.S.T. certification within six months from date of approval by Colorado P.O.S.T. as a condition of employment.
Starting salary for School Resource Officer is entry level Police I. Salary is set for the first year at $39,905.
