Chief DeYoung

Miles’ background includes a B.S. in Criminal justice, Military Police Army National Guard and Psychological Warfare Specialist U.S. Army Reserve. He has been promoted to patrol sergeant at two other law enforcement agencies before returning to the Woodland Park Police Department in 2011. He has training and experience in firearms, high risk tactics, DUI enforcement, field training and police administration. His law enforcement career started in 1994 as a young military policeman and has steadily grown from there. Miles is currently working on his Masters degree in Criminal Justice through American Military University. In addition to his duties as the Chief of Police, Miles serves as a Board Member for several city and county groups including, Daybreak Adult Day Program, the El Paso-Teller 911 Authority, and the Substance Abuse Trend and Response Task Force. He is also a co-founder of the Substance Abuse Threatening Underage Residents Now (S.A.T.U.R.N.) group.
