WOODLAND PARK CITY ELECTION INFORMATION UPDATE
The ballots for the April 6, 2010 Municipal election were mailed on March 19, 2010. Look for your ballot in the mail next week. If you do not receive a ballot, or if you have questions about completing and returning your ballot - please contact the City Clerk’s office at 687-9246 for assistance.
At this election, the voters will select a Mayor for a two-year term and select three Councilmembers for four year terms.
As of March 19, 2010, there are two qualified write-in candidates for the Office of Mayor – they are Jon DeVaux and Steve Randolph.
There are five candidates on the ballot for City Council; Eric Smith, David Turley, Terry R. Harrison, Charles Olson and Scott Davis.
In accordance with City Code, no write-in vote for any municipal office will be counted unless an affidavit of intent has been filed with the City Clerk by the person whose name is written in prior to five days before the election, indicating that such person desires the office and is qualified to assume the duties of that office if elected. The deadline for filing an affidavit of intent to run for office as a write-in candidate is March 31, 2010 at 5:00PM.
To vote for a qualified write-in candidate, circle the oval to the left of the “Write-in” blank and print the name of the candidate on the line provided.
In addition, the voters will consider a citizen initiated ordinance to increase the City sales tax from 3% to 4% and issue bonds to build a recreation center. Click to view the entire Ballot.
Ballots must be returned to the City Clerk’s office before 7PM on election day – April 6, 2010 in order to be counted. You may return your ballot by mail – be sure to affix adequate postage and mail it early. You may also return your ballot in person to City Hall, 220 W. South Avenue in Woodland Park.
