[ARCHIVED] Teller County Stage 1 Burn Ban in Effect...What does it mean for Woodland Park?

Burn Ban in Effect

On September 14, 2021, Teller County announced a Stage 1 Fire Ban.

In short, this fire ban effects Teller County residents outside of Woodland Park City limits. Why? Because the restrictions outlined in the Teller County's Stage Fire Ban are always in effect for those living within Woodland Park City limits.

The following is PROHIBITED for ALL Teller County Residents under a Stage 1 Burn Ban:

  1. Burning of materials not contained in an outdoor fireplace or permanent fire ring
  2. Use of any explosives (except for permitted mining operations)
  3. Use of fireworks of any type (except commercial fireworks within city limits).
  4. Firing of model rockets
  5. Burning of irrigation ditches unless completely surrounded by irrigated farmlands where burning is necessary for crop survival

For City of Woodland Park residents, everything mentioned above is ALWAYS prohibited, regardless of Teller County fire ban resolutions.

Questions, or concerns? Contact Northeast Teller County Fire District.
