The City is considering engaging the design services of a Professional Licensed Architect or Designer to develop conceptual plans, to include an architectural rendering, to remodel the facade of the City Hall building located at 220 W. South Ave. in Woodland Park.
The existing building is well over 40 years old, the existing façade(s) no longer have the architectural qualities to “fit” with our Mountain Community and they are rapidly approaching the end of their useful service life.
The City seeks to develop a new design for the exterior of the building that incorporates possible features such as earth tone stucco, rock veneers, angled roof lines (i.e. via a false front), timber or peeled log accents, security and accent lighting, signage, etc.
This work is intended to only address modifications to the exterior of the building. No interior remodeling work or major roof alterations are desired. Façade modifications would include the entire existing structure with minimal modifications required on the north/back side of the building. It is intended to keep all existing access/door locations and windows “as is” (i.e., same locations and same windows) with the exception of the City Council Chambers, Trombe Wall which may be modified along with the overhead doors on the east end of the building. The main entrance to City Hall located on South Ave. is intended to remain in its existing location, however new features may be proposed for the entrance and the existing vestibule. The stairs on the west entrance will need to be replaced
