Before becoming a Police Officer, Commander Leibbrand attended Western State College in Gunnison, Colorado. There he earned his Bachelor’s in Sociology and a Bachelor’s in Psychology with an emphasis on Criminal Justice. While working on his degree Commander Leibbrand volunteered with the Western State College Mountain Rescue Team. Also, while attending college, Commander Leibbrand interned with the Gunnison Police Department later earning a part-time job with them as a Code Enforcement Officer.

Professional Accomplishments
Since becoming a Police Officer, Commander Leibbrand has served as a Patrol Officer, Teen Court Judge, Patrol Corporal, Emergency Response Team (ERT/SWAT) member and Patrol Sergeant. As a Sergeant, Commander Leibbrand led half of the patrol team, was a radar instructor, field training officer, assisted with the reserve program and supervised the new K-9 program.

As Commander, he currently oversees the School Resource Officers, Dispatch, Office of Emergency Management, Investigations and the Victim Advocate Program. Commander Leibbrand has been with the Woodland Park Police Department since 2011 earning the title of Commander in July 2019.
